Blue Holes

Lead the development and production of a film that tells the story of marine biologist Johnny Gaskell, who uses Google Satellite View to uncover and document rare geologic phenomena known as “blue holes” in unexplored parts of the Great Barrier Reef.

I was responsible for the creative direction and on-location direction of the film crew that traveled through uncharted waters to study and document these formations for the first time, which provided insights about how to help maintain healthy coral reefs.

Launched on Earth Day 2021, this film was the cornerstone of a larger marketing effort I lead that told the story of Google’s environmental commitments and how unexpected ideas can have a big impact.
